Bellbird Cafe Run 3 February 2013

I haven't posted for a while and there's been a fairly good reason for that. Karen and I have been on holidays in USA for a bit and its taken a while to get back into things. Absolutely great holiday though and hopefully we will get a chance to go back.

A bits has happened since we got back, including some good news on the Suzuki and some not so good news on the Suzuki. I'll post that information up under the Suzuki page later.

On Sunday 3 Feberuary 2013 I went for a ride with some great friends, Dean and Mark, up through Maleny, on to Kenilworth and lunch at the Bellbird Cafe. I also condducted the first ever helmet camera test on this blog and by test, I mean a test of what I know, not of the camera. Actual product testing is better left to people who actually know what they are doing!

The camera is a basic Contour Roam 2, not the plus version. Bought it in the USA for a modest saving as well as a pair of Alpine boots which only come up over the ankles a bit, not the full size leg boot. A lot more comfortable and convenient on the Yamaha for long distance. Here are the videos from that trip; they are basic and I can see lots of ways to improve, such as where to place the camera on the helmet and angle as well as finding some decent music - although one could argue that there is no sweeter sound than a V-twin running on-song.
